Cookie policy

Version 1.0

This is an English translation of the Dutch original, provided for convenience. In the event of any difference in interpretation, the Dutch version prevails.

This policy applies to the webshop of Camera-tweedehands.nl B.V.. Version 1.0.

This page sets out what we store in your browser, why, and how you control it. Necessary cookies are always on, because without them signing in and your cart do not work. Everything else is only switched on once you say yes, and switched off again when you withdraw that choice.

What we mean by a cookie

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser, for example to remember that you are signed in. Alongside cookies we also use localStorage, which works the same way but stays in your browser until you clear it.

Cookies placed by us are called first party. Cookies from Google, Microsoft or Meta are third party: those companies can use them to collect data on other websites too, and they process that data partly in the United States. We place those cookies only with your consent. Which data goes to those parties, and on what basis that is allowed outside the EU, is set out in the privacy policy.

The three categories

CategoryWhat for
NecessaryNeeded to make the shop work: staying signed in, keeping your cart, remembering your language and theme preference, and recording what you chose in the cookie banner. You cannot switch these off, because then the shop stops working. They are not used to track you.
AnalyticsThese show us how the shop is used: which pages are visited, where people drop out of checkout, where a page is confusing. For this we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. We use this to improve the shop, not to approach you personally.
MarketingThese measure which advertisement leads to a purchase, and remember which campaign first brought you here and which campaigns, ad clicks and websites brought you here in the last 90 days. For this we use the Meta pixel. With the same consent we load the Google Maps map on the showroom page and embedded YouTube videos; Google may set cookies when they load. This category allows advertising parties to recognise you elsewhere.

Analytics and marketing storage is strictly opt-in: nothing in those categories is placed before you consent.

What exactly we store

On the page itself, a table here lists every cookie: name, category, what it is for and how long it lasts. That table comes straight from the code, so it always matches what actually happens.

Rows marked "not yet active" only start working once the corresponding analytics or advertising tools go live, and even then never without your consent. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta pixel are currently still in that state.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can adjust your choice at any time via the cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the tools concerned stop immediately; what happened while the consent was in place is not undone by it. Withdrawing is as easy as consenting.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. That is your right, but if you block the necessary cookies you will no longer be able to sign in and your cart will not be kept. If you delete all cookies, your stored choice disappears too and we will ask again.

Your choice is remembered for six months. This policy is version 1.0. If we add something, or what a tool does changes, we raise the version number and ask for your choice again.
