Video & Cinema is an umbrella category, so it starts with the question: what do you want to film? For projects where image quality and colour grading come first — short films, commercials, music videos — you choose a digital cinema camera. If you need to shoot for long stretches and stay mobile, as with weddings, sport or journalism, a camcorder with good autofocus and long battery life is a better fit. For aerial footage you reach for a drone, and for POV and action sports an action cam is unbeatable. So start by looking at the subcategories Digital Cine Cameras, Camcorders, Drones & Aerial and Action Cameras to narrow your search. Popular models right now are the Sony FX30, versatile for cinema projects, the Sony FX3, strong in low light, and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, with cinematic colour rendering. If you're thinking of a drone with real cinema quality, look at the DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine Premium Combo, or complement your cine lens setup with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K as a compact second body.
What should you look out for with used film equipment?
With cine cameras and camcorders you look at the condition of the sensor (watch for dust or pixel defects), the number of operating hours where possible, and whether the mount, screen hinge and connections work properly. With drones, the gimbal, the propeller motors and the condition of the batteries are important — batteries are wear parts. With action cams you check the waterproofing and the touchscreen. All our items are professionally inspected and given a clear condition grade, so you know exactly what you're buying.
Warranty, inspection and returns
Every used video or cinema purchase comes with a warranty of at least 12 months and a 14-day right of return. If the device disappoints or doesn't suit your workflow after all, you simply send it back without any fuss. That makes buying used just as carefree as buying new, only a good deal cheaper.
