Question 1

What lenses is this Easycover protection compatible with?

Accepted Answer

This Easycover lens protection is made specifically for the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM. It's a purpose-fit cover, so it won't work properly on other lenses — the fit is tailored to that exact lens body shape and size.

Question 2

Does the Brown Camouflage cover affect lens functionality?

Accepted Answer

No. The Easycover is a slip-on protective cover, not a permanent modification. It wraps around the outside of the lens barrel to protect it from scratches and bumps without interfering with zoom, focus or image stabilisation controls.

Question 3

Why use a camouflage cover on a camera lens?

Accepted Answer

A camo pattern like Brown Camouflage helps break up the outline of a large telephoto lens in natural environments. Wildlife photographers use them to reduce the chance of spooking birds and animals, and to avoid drawing unwanted attention when shooting in the field.

Question 4

Is buying a used lens accessory like this worth it?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Lens covers and protective accessories typically see very light use — they're not mechanical parts that wear out. Buying a used Easycover cover is a straightforward way to protect an expensive lens like the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM without paying full retail. All second-hand items on Camera-tweedehands.nl come with a minimum 12 months warranty.

Question 5

Does the Easycover allow access to the zoom and focus rings?

Accepted Answer

Lens protection covers like this are generally designed to wrap the barrel without fully blocking the zoom and focus rings, but the exact fit depends on the specific Easycover model. It's worth doing a quick test at home before your first shoot — especially if you use thick gloves in cold weather, which can already make ring access trickier regardless of the cover.

Question 6

Can I use this cover with a lens hood on the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM?

Accepted Answer

Specs for this Easycover don't confirm hood compatibility, so the safest approach is to test the fit before heading out. Some photographers shoot without a hood when the cover is on; others reverse-mount the hood first and then fit the cover over the barrel. Try both setups at home to find what works for your shooting style.
