Question 1

What does the Easycover Lens Protection actually do for your lens?

Accepted Answer

The sleeve wraps around the outside of your lens barrel, adding a layer of coverage between your glass and the environment. Its primary function is concealment — the green camouflage pattern breaks up the outline of the Canon RF 100-500mm's distinctive white finish, helping you stay less visible to wildlife in woodland and grassland settings.

Question 2

Does this Easycover fit the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM specifically?

Accepted Answer

Yes — this sleeve is made specifically for the Canon RF 100-500mm 4.5-7.1L IS USM. Easycover products are model-specific, so it will not fit other Canon telephoto lenses like the Canon RF 600mm or RF 800mm without a dedicated version for those.

Question 3

Can I still use autofocus and zoom with the sleeve on?

Accepted Answer

Easycover sleeves are designed to wrap around the lens barrel without obstructing operation, but the exact cutouts and fitment are specific to the model. It's worth checking the fitment hands-on when you first put it on to confirm all controls and rings are accessible for your shooting style.

Question 4

Why choose green camouflage for a lens sleeve?

Accepted Answer

Green camouflage is the go-to choice for wildlife, bird and nature photography in woodland or grassland environments. Canon's RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM has a distinctive white finish that stands out in natural surroundings — the camo sleeve breaks up that outline and helps you get closer to subjects without spooking them.

Question 5

Is buying a used Easycover lens sleeve worth it?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Lens sleeves and accessories like this see very light use compared to camera bodies or lenses, so a second-hand Easycover is typically in great condition. Every used item on Camera-tweedehands.nl is individually inspected and comes with a minimum 12 months warranty, so you're covered either way.

Question 6

Does the sleeve affect the IS (image stabilization) or optical performance of the lens?

Accepted Answer

No. The Easycover sleeve sits on the outside of the lens barrel only — it has no contact with optical elements or electronic components. Image stabilization, autofocus and optical performance of the RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM are completely unaffected.
