Question 1

Does this Easycover lens protection fit the Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM specifically?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it is listed as compatible with Canon and made specifically for the Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM. The product listing confirms compatibility with that lens, so you're not dealing with a loose universal-fit cover.

Question 2

What does the green camouflage colour actually do — is it just cosmetic?

Accepted Answer

It's functional as well as cosmetic. The green camouflage pattern reduces the visual presence of a large telephoto lens, which matters for wildlife and bird photography where a conspicuous lens can spook subjects. It also helps break up the reflective surface of the barrel in natural settings.

Question 3

What does a lens protection sleeve protect against?

Accepted Answer

A lens sleeve like this protects against surface scratches, light knocks, dust and minor moisture. It won't replace a hard case for transport, but it adds a useful layer of protection during active shooting — especially when a big telephoto is resting on a vehicle door, fence or tripod collar.

Question 4

Can I still operate the zoom ring and switches with the sleeve on?

Accepted Answer

Check the product photos to confirm the exact cutout or access positions for this specific model before buying, as sleeve designs vary. The product listing is the most reliable source for details on what controls remain accessible.

Question 5

Is buying a used Easycover lens sleeve worth it?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — a protective sleeve doesn't have moving parts or electronics, so wear is almost entirely cosmetic. A used or second-hand sleeve in good condition performs identically to a new one. Every item on Camera-tweedehands.nl comes with a minimum 12 months warranty.

Question 6

Does the sleeve work with a lens hood attached?

Accepted Answer

Most lens sleeves cover the barrel only and are not designed to extend over the hood. You would typically shoot with the hood mounted separately on top of the sleeve. Check the product description for this specific variant if hood compatibility matters to you.
