Question 1

What lens does this Easycover protection fit?

Accepted Answer

This Easycover lens protection is specifically made to fit the Sony FE 400-800mm f/6.3-8 G OSS super-telephoto zoom lens. It's not a universal cover — the fit is tailored to that lens body.

Question 2

Why choose a green camouflage lens cover for wildlife photography?

Accepted Answer

A green camouflage pattern helps your lens blend into natural surroundings like forests, wetlands and grasslands. Animals and birds are less likely to be disturbed by movement from a lens that matches the environment, which can make a real difference when shooting skittish subjects at close range.

Question 3

Does a lens cover affect autofocus or image quality on the Sony 400-800mm f6.3-8?

Accepted Answer

No. A lens protection cover wraps around the outside of the lens barrel and does not cover the front element or any optical or electronic parts. Autofocus, image stabilisation and optical performance are completely unaffected.

Question 4

Is buying a used Easycover lens accessory worth it?

Accepted Answer

Lens covers and protective accessories like this see very little mechanical stress — they're not optical elements and have no electronic components. A second-hand Easycover in good condition works exactly the same as a new one, making used the smart buy for this kind of accessory. Every item on Camera-tweedehands.nl comes with a minimum 12 months warranty.

Question 5

Can I use this cover while the lens is mounted on the camera?

Accepted Answer

Easycover lens protections are designed to be used with the lens both mounted and unmounted. The cover wraps around the barrel exterior only and does not block the lens mount or rear contacts, so it does not interfere with the camera-to-lens connection. Always check that your zoom and focus rings remain comfortably reachable after fitting.

Question 6

Does the green camouflage cover protect against rain or dust?

Accepted Answer

A lens cover like this adds a physical barrier against light knocks, scratches, dust and minor splashes, which is useful when you're out in the field. It is not a waterproof rain sleeve, so in heavy rain you'd still want dedicated weather protection on top of this cover.
