Question 1

What cameras use CFexpress Type B cards?

Accepted Answer

CFexpress Type B is the slot format used in many professional and enthusiast cameras, including the Nikon Z9, Nikon Z8, Canon EOS R3, Canon EOS R5, and Nikon Z6 III, among others. Always check your camera's manual to confirm it accepts CFexpress Type B specifically, as Type A and Type C are physically different and not interchangeable.

Question 2

Is 1750MB/s read speed fast enough for 8K video recording?

Accepted Answer

1750MB/s is a high read speed that comfortably supports 8K RAW and high-bitrate ProRes recording on cameras that output those formats. Write speed is equally important for recording — check the write spec of the specific card variant before buying if you're pushing the absolute limits of your camera's video output.

Question 3

Is 600GB enough storage for a professional shoot?

Accepted Answer

600GB goes a long way. Shooting uncompressed 45MP RAW files, you're looking at thousands of frames before you fill the card. For video, 600GB holds several hours of high-bitrate 4K or a solid chunk of 8K footage depending on codec. It's a practical capacity for full-day events, wildlife sessions, or multi-location shoots without card swaps.

Question 4

Is buying a used CFexpress Type B card safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as the card has been properly inspected. Flash storage doesn't degrade the way mechanical drives do under normal use, and a second-hand CFexpress card that's been checked for errors is a reliable purchase. Every used card sold here comes with a minimum 12 months warranty, so you're covered if anything unexpected comes up.

Question 5

Can I use a Renice CFexpress Type B card in an XQD slot?

Accepted Answer

Some cameras with XQD slots — like older Nikon bodies — accept CFexpress Type B cards through a firmware update. The physical form factor is compatible, but you need to confirm your specific camera model supports CFexpress Type B via firmware before assuming it will work.

Question 6

Do I need a special card reader for CFexpress Type B?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CFexpress Type B cards require a dedicated CFexpress Type B reader to transfer files at full speed on a computer. Standard SD or CompactFlash readers won't work. USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt readers are recommended to avoid the reader becoming a bottleneck when offloading large volumes of footage or RAW files.
