About the Smallrig Side Grip

The SmallRig Side Grip is a handy add-on for camera rigs and cages, giving you a more natural hand position and better control when shooting handheld or on a shoulder rig.

What is the SmallRig Side Grip?

A side grip attaches to the side of your camera cage or baseplate and lets you hold your rig more comfortably with your non-dominant hand. It reduces fatigue during long shoots and gives you a stable platform for run-and-gun or documentary-style work. SmallRig is one of the most widely used brands in the cine accessories space, known for solid build quality at accessible price points. Note: SmallRig produces multiple side grip variants with different model numbers and mounting interfaces — always check the specific listing to confirm compatibility with your cage.

Who is it for?

If you're building out a video rig for mirrorless or DSLR cameras, a side grip is a practical upgrade. It's especially useful for solo shooters who need steady handheld footage without a full shoulder rig setup. Buying a used SmallRig Side Grip is a smart way to complete your rig without spending full retail — and every item comes with a minimum 12 months warranty.
