Does the Tamron SP AF 11-18mm 4.5-5.6 have internal focus?

Yes, the IF (Internal Focus) designation in the lens name means the front element does not extend or rotate during autofocus. That's a practical advantage — your circular polariser won't twist out of position when the lens focuses, and the overall physical durability of the lens benefits from fewer moving external parts.

Is buying a used Tamron SP AF 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 worth it?

For Canon DSLR shooters who want an ultra-wide zoom and don't need image stabilisation, a second-hand Tamron 11-18mm is a sensible buy. The lens is compact at around 355g, the internal focus design ages well mechanically, and the 77mm filter thread is a standard size. At Camera-tweedehands.nl, every used copy is individually inspected and comes with 12 months warranty.

Who is the Tamron SP AF 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Di II for?

This lens is built for Canon DSLR shooters who want to go seriously wide without spending a fortune. If you're into landscape photography, you'll appreciate the 11mm end — on an APS-C sensor that gives you roughly a 17.6mm equivalent field of view, which is wide enough to fill a frame with dramatic skies or sweeping scenery. Astro photographers also get a lot of mileage from this lens: wide focal lengths and a relatively compact body make it easy to bring on a night hike. It's not the fastest lens around, so if you're shooting the Milky Way handheld, you'll want to pair it with a body that handles high ISO well. Landscape work on a tripod? No problem at all. If you're shooting with a DSLR and want a solid ultra-wide for travel, hiking, architecture, or open skies, this Tamron covers the bases without the bulk. Tamron has a long reputation for making third-party lenses that punch above their price point, and this one fits that tradition.
