Used camera accessories

Accessories are the category where buying used is almost always worthwhile. A tripod, filter or memory card lasts for years and rarely gets 'used up', so you often get gear in fine condition for a considerably lower price than new. It saves you money that you can put towards a better lens or body.

What should you look out for with used accessories?

What you look at differs per type of accessory. With tripods (think carbon models from Gitzo or Manfrotto), you check the leg locks, the head and that there's no play in it. With filters from Hoya or B+W, you look out for scratches and the coating. With batteries and chargers, the condition and charging behaviour matter, and with memory cards the speed and reliability. If you're looking for a battery, think of models such as the Canon LP-E6NH, the Canon LP-E6P or the Sony NP-FZ100 — each one a reliable choice that delivers more than enough power for a day's shooting in many mirrorless cameras. Adapters and grips need to make good contact and sit firmly in place. Popular models right now are the Canon EF 2x III Extender for extra reach, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo as a compact vlogging camera and the Nikon FTZ II Mount Adapter for continuing to use older lenses. All our items are professionally inspected and come with an honest description of their condition, so you know what you're buying.

Warranty and returns

Everything you buy here comes with at least 12 months' warranty and you have a 14-day right of return. If something does disappoint, you simply send it back without any fuss — handy with accessories in particular, where the exact fit with your camera or lens sometimes only becomes clear at home.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants to expand their kit without paying the full new price. Whether you're looking for a first tripod, want to upgrade your bag, are missing a set of filters or need extra batteries for a long shoot — in this category and its subcategories such as Tripods, Filters and Memory Cards & Readers you'll probably find what you're looking for.
