Question 1

What does the ARRI WPA-1 Wedge Plate Adapter do?

Accepted Answer

The WPA-1 is a wedge plate adapter from ARRI that connects wedge-style plates to compatible cine mounting interfaces. It's used to attach or detach cameras and accessories on professional rigs without tools, which speeds up transitions between support configurations on set.

Question 2

Is the ARRI WPA-1 compatible with other brands' rigging systems?

Accepted Answer

The WPA-1 is built to ARRI's own mechanical standards. Compatibility with third-party rigging systems depends on whether those systems share the same wedge plate interface geometry. We recommend reviewing your specific support system's interface specifications to confirm fit.

Question 3

Is buying a used ARRI WPA-1 worth it?

Accepted Answer

Cine rigging hardware like the WPA-1 is built to withstand demanding production environments, so used examples are generally very reliable. Buying second-hand gets you professional-grade ARRI build quality at a lower outlay, and every item on Camera-tweedehands.nl comes with a minimum 12 months warranty.

Question 4

What condition can I expect from a second-hand ARRI WPA-1?

Accepted Answer

All used items on Camera-tweedehands.nl are individually photographed and professionally inspected. The exact condition grade is shown on the individual variant listing, so you know exactly what you're getting before you buy.

Question 5

Where does the WPA-1 fit in an ARRI rigging setup?

Accepted Answer

The WPA-1 is used within a larger ARRI-compatible rigging ecosystem as a wedge plate adapter. It is typically found in shoulder rig and baseplate configurations where a wedge plate interface is the primary mounting method between the camera and support hardware.

Question 6

Who typically uses a wedge plate adapter like the WPA-1 on set?

Accepted Answer

Wedge plate adapters are primarily the domain of camera operators and first assistant cameras (1st ACs). They're the crew members responsible for configuring and swapping camera support setups quickly between shots, which is exactly the workflow a wedge plate interface is designed to accelerate.
