Question 1

What does the Beachtek DXA-SLR do?

Accepted Answer

The Beachtek DXA-SLR is an XLR audio adapter that lets you connect professional balanced microphones or wireless receivers to a DSLR camera's 3.5mm mic input, converting balanced XLR signals to the stereo mini-jack your camera accepts.

Question 2

Which cameras is the DXA-SLR compatible with?

Accepted Answer

The DXA-SLR is designed for DSLR cameras that have a 3.5mm stereo microphone input. It works with most DSLR bodies regardless of brand — Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm — as long as your camera has a 3.5mm mic jack.

Question 3

Does the Beachtek DXA-SLR provide phantom power?

Accepted Answer

Phantom power availability varies across DXA-SLR units and configurations. We document in the condition notes and feature description whether the specific used unit supports phantom power for condenser microphones.

Question 4

Is buying a used Beachtek DXA-SLR worth it?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the DXA-SLR is an active device with a preamp/gain stage, but it has relatively few mechanical components that degrade with normal use. A used unit in good condition typically performs the same as a new one for everyday video work. Buying second-hand means you pay less for the same audio quality improvement, and every unit here comes with at least 12 months warranty.

Question 5

What microphones can I use with the DXA-SLR?

Accepted Answer

Any microphone or audio device with a standard XLR output works with the DXA-SLR — including shotgun mics, lavalier wireless receivers, boom microphones and dynamic mics. It converts the balanced XLR signal to the 3.5mm stereo input your camera accepts.

Question 6

What's included with a used Beachtek DXA-SLR from Camera-tweedehands.nl?

Accepted Answer

Included accessories — such as output cable, battery or original manual — vary per used unit. We document exactly what's included in the individual listing's condition notes. Every unit comes with a minimum 12 months warranty regardless of what accessories are present.
