Question 1

What sensor size does the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro use?

Accepted Answer

The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro uses a Super 35 sensor. Super 35 is the standard frame size used in professional cinema production and gives roughly the same field of view as APS-C, so your Canon EF lenses behave as expected without the extra crop you'd get from a Micro Four Thirds body.

Question 2

Which lenses fit the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K Pro?

Accepted Answer

This version of the camera has a Canon EF mount, meaning it accepts Canon EF and EF-S lenses as well as a wide variety of third-party EF-mount glass from Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, and Samyang. EF-mount adapters are also available if you want to use PL cinema glass or vintage lenses, giving you a lot of flexibility on set.

Question 3

What memory cards does the Blackmagic 6K Pro take?

Accepted Answer

The camera has two card slots: one CFast 2.0 and one SD/UHS-II. CFast 2.0 cards are fast enough to handle high-bitrate Blackmagic RAW recording at higher quality settings, while the SD slot is handy for recording proxies, saving stills, or using as a secondary recording backup. Always check Blackmagic's compatibility list before buying CFast cards, as not all brands perform equally.

Question 4

What battery does the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro use?

Accepted Answer

It uses an NP-F570 type battery — the same form factor used in many Sony camcorders and video lights. These batteries are cheap, widely available, and you can carry as many spares as you need. The camera also accepts power via USB-C and a DC input, so you can run it tethered to a power bank or wall adapter for longer shoots.

Question 5

Is the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro good for video and filmmaking?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it's purpose-built for cinema and video rather than stills. The Super 35 sensor, Blackmagic RAW codec, and native DaVinci Resolve integration make it a strong choice for narrative films, short films, documentaries, and high-end YouTube or commercial content. The Canon EF mount version is particularly popular because of the vast lens ecosystem available.

Question 6

How does the 6K Pro differ from the standard Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K?

Accepted Answer

The 6K Pro adds features aimed at professional on-set use: a built-in ND filter wheel (very useful when shooting outdoors without a matte box) and support for the larger NP-F570 style battery in addition to LP-E6 batteries — meaning you can run longer takes on a single charge compared to LP-E6 alone. Both cameras share the same Super 35 sensor and core recording quality, so the Pro upgrades are primarily about on-set convenience and power flexibility.

Question 7

Is buying a used Blackmagic 6K Pro worth it?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — Blackmagic cinema cameras hold up well over time because they're built for production use. When you buy a used 6K Pro from a reputable seller, look for a camera that has been professionally inspected. On Camera-tweedehands.nl every pre-owned Blackmagic camera comes with minimum 12 months warranty and is individually photographed, so you know exactly what you're getting before it arrives.

Question 8

Can I use the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K Pro for vlogging?

Accepted Answer

It can work for vlogging, but it's a heavier, more production-oriented camera than a typical vlogging setup. Its real strength is in narrative and documentary work where Blackmagic RAW files give you maximum latitude in post. If you need a lighter, more run-and-gun option, a mirrorless hybrid might suit daily vlogging better — but for high-production-value content the 6K Pro delivers cinematic results that consumer cameras simply can't match.
