Used Canon DSLR cameras

Here you'll find used Canon DSLRs: from affordable APS-C bodies for those just starting out to full-frame pro flagships for the seasoned photographer. Canon's EOS DSLRs all use the familiar EF mount, so you have immediate access to a gigantic arsenal of lenses — both new and used. That makes the system ideal to buy into and build up step by step.

The line-up is broad. If you move up to full-frame, you'll soon arrive at the Canon 5D Mark IV, a true all-rounder for portrait, landscape and reportage with its sharp 30-megapixel sensor, or the Canon 6D Mark II, a more compact and accessible full-frame body that performs very well in low light. And anyone looking for the very best for pro work will look to the Canon 1DX Mark III, with lightning-fast autofocus and top speed built for sport and action, or the Canon 1DX Mark II, a robust and reliable workhorse for professionals.

Buying a used Canon DSLR: what should you look out for?

A used Canon DSLR is a smart way to get a lot of camera for less money. DSLRs are solidly built and last for years, so a body with signs of use can still be in excellent technical shape. The most important thing to look at is the shutter count: that number tells you how many photos have already been taken and says more about the wear than the exterior does. With us, the condition of every camera is clearly described, and everything has been professionally inspected.

What should you look out for?

Besides the shutter count, also check whether the sensor is clean, whether the rubbers and buttons are still sitting neatly in place and whether the battery holds its charge well. Torn between APS-C and full-frame? APS-C bodies are lighter, cheaper and give you an extra reach advantage with telephoto lenses — handy for sport and nature. Full-frame delivers more dynamic range and better performance in low light. Don't forget to take a look at the Canon lenses too, because the right lens often makes more of a difference than the body.

Who is it for?

Beginning photographers will find an affordable and reliable way in with the older enthusiast models. Advanced users and semi-pros are well served by a full-frame Canon 5D Mark IV or Canon 6D Mark II, both versatile enough for virtually any genre of photography. Pros who need maximum speed and reliability reach for the Canon 1DX Mark III or Canon 1DX Mark II, built to perform under the toughest conditions. Torn between a DSLR and mirrorless? Then have a look around our other cameras too. Every used Canon comes with at least 12 months' warranty and a 14-day return period, so you can take your time trying out whether the camera suits you.
