You buy a used Pentax DSLR above all for the combination of build quality and value. Many bodies have weather sealing and in-body shake reduction, so you benefit from stabilisation with every lens you mount — handy if you're using (or reusing) older Pentax glass. Because Pentax is less mainstream, buying used often gets you a surprising amount of camera for your money.
What should you look out for?
With a used DSLR, always check the number of shutter actuations (the shutter count), the condition of the sensor and whether the seals are still in good order.
