Question 1

What camera does the DJI Phantom 3 Pro have?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Phantom 3 Pro shoots 4K video and captures 12-megapixel still images. The camera is mounted on a 3-axis gimbal that keeps footage stable during flight.

Question 2

How long does the DJI Phantom 3 Pro battery last?

Accepted Answer

The Phantom 3 Pro uses an Intelligent Flight Battery rated for approximately 23 minutes of flight time per charge. Real-world flight times vary depending on wind conditions, payload and flying style. Buying a spare battery is always a smart move for longer shooting sessions.

Question 3

Is the DJI Phantom 3 Pro still worth buying?

Accepted Answer

For beginners or casual aerial photographers, the Phantom 3 Pro remains a capable and affordable option. It records 4K video, has a proven 3-axis gimbal stabilisation system, and benefits from years of firmware maturity. If you need more advanced obstacle avoidance or extended range, you may want to look at a more recent DJI model — but for straightforward aerial stills and video, it still delivers solid results.

Question 4

What is the range of the DJI Phantom 3 Pro?

Accepted Answer

The Phantom 3 Pro uses DJI's Lightbridge transmission system, which provides a video downlink and control range of up to 5 km in open, interference-free conditions. Actual range in urban or congested RF environments will be lower, and local regulations may impose tighter limits regardless of technical capability.

Question 5

Is buying a used DJI Phantom 3 Pro safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as you buy from a verified source. On Camera-tweedehands.nl, every pre-owned drone is inspected and individually photographed before sale, and all items come with a minimum 12 months warranty. Key things to check on a used Phantom 3 Pro are propeller and motor condition, battery cycle count, and whether the gimbal moves freely without binding.

Question 6

Does the DJI Phantom 3 Pro need to be registered?

Accepted Answer

In most European countries, drones above 250g — which includes the Phantom 3 Pro — must be registered with the national aviation authority before flying. Registration requirements, flight rules and restricted zones vary by country, so always check your local civil aviation authority's website before your first flight.
