Who is the Hasselblad HC 50mm f/3.5 for?

On a medium format Hasselblad H body, a 50mm lens delivers a field of view that sits comfortably in wide-to-standard territory — genuinely useful for architecture, environmental portraits, street photography, and travel work where you want context around your subject. The f/3.5 aperture separates a subject from a background effectively on medium format, where shallow depth of field comes more naturally than on smaller sensor systems. The 0.6m minimum focus distance means you can get fairly close for detail shots without switching lenses. This is the everyday wide option most H-system shooters reach for first, often used alongside more specialised primes for reach or speed.
