About the Hasselblad Xpan

The Hasselblad XPan is a dual-format 35mm film camera that shoots both standard 24ร—36mm frames and true panoramic 24ร—65mm exposures on the same roll, housed in a compact titanium-aluminium body with a built-in light meter.

What makes the Hasselblad XPan special?

The XPan physically expands the frame to 65mm wide rather than masking it. In panoramic mode, the full 24ร—65mm negative is exposed โ€” no light is blocked, no film is wasted. The panoramic images carry genuine optical information from edge to edge, giving an aspect ratio of approximately 1:2.7.

The XPan system was co-developed with Fujifilm and is also known as the Fujifilm TX-1 (first generation) and TX-2 (second generation, equivalent to the XPan II). The optical system is shared: the three XPan lenses โ€” 30mm f/5.6, 45mm f/4, and 90mm f/4 โ€” are compatible with both the Hasselblad and Fujifilm-badged bodies.

XPan vs. XPan II โ€” what are the differences?

The second generation, the Hasselblad XPan II (also sold as Fuji TX-2), added a multiple-exposure function and a combined on/off switch with shutter lock. Otherwise both generations are functionally identical. All lenses are fully interchangeable between the two versions.

What to watch for when buying a used Hasselblad XPan

The most commonly reported issue is viewfinder misalignment when switching between the 45mm and 90mm lenses. Always confirm this works correctly before purchase. At Camera-tweedehands.nl, each camera is individually photographed and professionally inspected so you know exactly what condition you are getting. All used XPan cameras come with a minimum 12-month warranty.
