Used rangefinder lenses (rangefinder fit)

Here you'll find used lenses that fit analogue rangefinder cameras — think of the classic screw mount (LTM/M39) and the M-mount. It's a deliberately small, focused section within our analogue lenses, so the range varies and is specialist. What you're looking for here is usually a fixed focal length with that typical compact build that rangefinder photography is known for.

In practice it comes down to a handful of sought-after pieces, such as a Canon 50mm in LTM mount or a Voigtländer Color-Skopar. Because this section really is about one-off finds rather than a broad series, it pays to check the page again from time to time. Not sure about the mount? Then have a look at our broader analogue lenses and the Lenses overview as well.

Buying used rangefinder lenses: what to look out for

Rangefinder lenses are a niche corner of the used market, and that is exactly why the value lies in the details. The most important thing is the mount: a screw-mount lens (LTM/M39) won't simply fit a bayonet M-mount without an adapter, and the same applies the other way round. So always check that the lens fits your body or adapter before you order.

What to look out for when buying used

With older rangefinder glass you mainly look at the optical condition: clear glass without fungus, little haze and no scratches on the coating. Mechanically you want a focus ring that turns smoothly but not too loosely, and an aperture that closes cleanly and with enough resistance. Minor signs of use on the barrel are normal and say little about image quality. Every lens we sell has been professionally inspected and comes with a warranty of at least 12 months, and you have 14 days to return it — handy precisely for specialist purchases where you want to judge the glass for yourself first.

Who this section is for

This page is for the analogue photographer who shoots specifically with a rangefinder camera, or for collectors who want to complete their set. If you're looking for something broader, take a look at our analogue film lenses or move on to the main Lenses category.
