Buying a used Fotodiox adapter: what to look for
Fotodiox from the United States is one of the best-known adapter brands. The catalogue covers almost every combination: Canon EF or Nikon F on Sony E, Leica M on Fujifilm X, medium-format lenses from Hasselblad or Pentax 67 on mirrorless cameras, and the tilt-shift adapters that turn an ordinary lens into an architecture lens. The Pro line has tighter tolerances and a refined finish.
An adapter looks simple, but the fit decides everything. We check that the adapter clicks onto camera and lens without play, that the flange distance is correct (infinity focus), that the inside is matte against reflections and that any electronic contacts work. On tilt-shift adapters we test the movements and locks.
Keep in mind that a purely mechanical adapter passes no autofocus or aperture control; for modern lenses without an aperture ring you need a version with a ring or electronics. The product page states exactly which mounts the adapter connects.
