Kenko Tokina from Tokyo has existed since 1957 and is known as the manufacturer that makes accessories for other people's lenses. The Teleplus teleconverters come in 1.4x and 2x and in versions for Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A and more; the HD Pro series keeps autofocus and image stabilisation and works with most lenses, unlike the camera makers' own converters, which often fit only their own telephotos. The DG extension tubes (12, 20 and 36mm) pass autofocus and aperture control and are the cheapest road to macro.

Teleconverters and extension tubes have electronic contacts that wear with heavy use. We check the contacts, the bayonets for play and, on converters, the glass for scratches and dust. We also test autofocus with a matching lens. The condition notes list everything.

A 1.4x converter costs you one stop of light, a 2x two stops; on an f/2.8 lens autofocus still works fine afterwards, on f/5.6 zooms it gets difficult. Ask us which combination makes sense for your lens.
