Premium Used Panasonic Gear

Panasonic Lumix is the brand for anyone who takes photography and video equally seriously. We usually have almost 300 Lumix products in stock: the full-frame S series, Micro Four Thirds G and GH bodies, travel compacts from the TZ line and lenses for both systems.

Why a used Lumix?

New, Lumix already offers the most camera for your money; used, the gap with the big three is frankly unfair. Video features others charge a pro model for โ€” internal 10-bit, unlimited recording time โ€” sit in mid-range models here, and the used market barely prices that in. For beginning video makers a used GH5 therefore remains one of the smartest first cameras: the internet is full of tutorials and rig options for exactly that model. And since the S5 II switched to phase-detect autofocus the last counter-argument disappeared, and demand for used copies picked up noticeably. Anyone looking for a hybrid kit buys the most capability per euro here, with a longer life for fine gear as a bonus.

S, G or GH?

  • S series (full-frame) โ€” the S5 II and S5 IIX are the value-for-money kings, and the compact S9 is the newest favourite.
  • GH line (video) โ€” video makers swear by the GH6 and GH7.
  • G line โ€” the G9 II remains the all-rounder for photo and video; all Micro Four Thirds glass fits it.
  • TZ compacts โ€” the trusted travel zooms for anyone who wants to keep it small.

What we look for in used Lumix

Video use leaves different traces than photography. That is why with Lumix we look beyond the standard check of sensor, shutter, stabilisation and glass: we watch for signs of long recording sessions, test the HDMI and audio ports that get heavy use in rigs, check the ventilation on the GH models and try out the recording functions. On the TZ compacts the zoom mechanism gets the attention. Everything is described honestly with the product, with photos of the actual copy and a 12-month warranty.

Glass to go with it

L-mount means choice: besides Panasonic, Sigma and Leica lenses fit the S series too, and all Micro Four Thirds glass fits the G line. Selling your current kit is possible through an online offer โ€” offsetting is possible straight away.

Buying used Panasonic Lumix: L-Mount or Micro Four Thirds?

Panasonic released the first mirrorless system camera, the Lumix G1, in 2008 and built a reputation as a video brand with the GH series: the GH5 made 4K 60p and 10-bit recording affordable, the GH6 and GH7 added ProRes and internal RAW, and the G9 II is the photographic counterpart with fast phase-detect autofocus. Since 2019 there is also the full-frame S system on the L-Mount Panasonic shares with Leica and Sigma: the S5 II and S5 IIX as hybrid all-rounders, the S1R II for high resolution, and the Lumix S lenses plus the complete Sigma and Leica L catalogue.

On used Lumix cameras we check the shutter count and the video hours, the sensor, the stabilisation, every connector (HDMI, USB-C, XLR adapter) and the cooling on the GH models. Lenses are tested for autofocus, Dual IS, aperture and glass. Video cameras are often used intensively; the condition notes are honest about it.

Choose Micro Four Thirds for compact weight and the largest video lens range, L-Mount for full-frame image quality and the Sigma primes. We help you choose and buy your old kit.
