Premium Used TTArtisan Gear

TTArtisan makes manual-focus lenses in classic metal barrels for a fraction of the price of the originals: fast 35mm and 50mm primes for Leica M, the 23mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.8 for Fujifilm X, Sony E, Nikon Z and Micro Four Thirds, and recently autofocus versions. Used TTArtisan is a cheap, creative choice. Tested for optics and mechanics, with a 12-month warranty.

Buying a used TTArtisan lens: what to look for

TTArtisan from Shenzhen has existed since 2019 and grew quickly by building Leica M lenses that echo the classics in looks and handling: the 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/0.95 and 21mm f/1.5 with brass mounts, engraved scales and rangefinder coupling. For mirrorless APS-C and MFT cameras there are compact primes such as the 23mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.2, and full-frame lenses such as the 11mm f/2.8 fisheye and the 100mm f/2.8 macro with 2:1 magnification. The AF series (27mm f/2.8, 56mm f/1.8) adds autofocus for Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon Z and Canon RF.

On used TTArtisan we check the focus ring for smoothness and play, the aperture, the rangefinder coupling on M versions, the contacts and motor on AF versions and the glass for scratches, dust and fungus. The metal barrel can show paint wear; we note that honestly and it says nothing about the optics.

Mind the mount and the sensor format: many TTArtisans are designed for APS-C or MFT and vignette on full-frame. The product page states both. M lenses work with an adapter on any mirrorless camera; ask us which adapter you need.
