Z mount or F mount?
The mirrorless Z series (Z5, Z6, Z7, Z8, Z9, Zf) uses the Z mount; DSLRs such as the D750, D780 and D850 use the F mount. The beauty of Nikon: with the FTZ adapter almost all F glass with autofocus simply keeps working on a Z body. That often makes a used F lens the most affordable route to top-class glass for your Z camera.
Why used Nikon glass?
Nikon lenses are known for their solid build — and with used lenses that really shows. We test every lens for autofocus, aperture, VR stabilisation and the condition of the glass, and describe honestly what we find, with photos of the actual item.
The most popular Nikon lenses right now
For the Z series, the Z 24-70mm f/4 S is currently the most chosen standard zoom: compact, light and sharp enough for almost any everyday use. If you prefer a faster aperture, go for the Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S, a versatile professional all-rounder for portrait, street and reportage. For telephoto photographers who want to capture action and sports, the Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S is a favourite thanks to its fast autofocus and constant aperture. If you photograph nature and wildlife, the Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR is an affordable super-telephoto zoom with an impressive reach.
