Who is the Olympus 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO for?

If you shoot mirrorless on a Micro Four Thirds body and want one lens that genuinely handles everything — landscapes, street, travel, events, even close-up detail shots — this is it. The 24–200mm equivalent range means you can leave the bag at home and just go. The constant f/4 aperture keeps exposure predictable across the entire zoom, while the built-in IS gives you real flexibility in lower light without cranking ISO. It's a favourite among travel photographers who don't want to babysit a lens collection, and it holds its own at weddings and sporting events where you need to react fast. The 0.15m minimum focus distance adds a practical near-focus trick most superzooms skip entirely. Anyone already invested in the Olympus ecosystem will find this lens slots in naturally as an all-in-one workhorse, particularly paired with a weather-sealed body for outdoor or demanding conditions.

Buying a used Olympus 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO

Picking up a used or second-hand Olympus 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO is a smart move — this is a pro-grade lens built to take punishment, so pre-owned copies typically arrive in excellent mechanical shape. Every lens on Camera-tweedehands.nl is individually inspected and photographed, so you know exactly what you're getting before it ships. All used lenses come with a minimum 12 months warranty (the exact period is shown on the variant listing), and returns are accepted within 14 days. If you're comparing it to the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO, note that the 12-100 trades one stop of aperture for a dramatically extended reach — often the right call for solo travel or documentary work.
