Question 1

What cameras is the Olympus FL-LM3 compatible with?

Accepted Answer

The FL-LM3 works with Micro Four Thirds cameras that support Olympus/Panasonic TTL — so that covers the Olympus OM-D and PEN lines, as well as compatible Panasonic Lumix models with a standard hot shoe.

Question 2

What does guide number 9 mean in practice?

Accepted Answer

A guide number of 9 (in metres at ISO 100) means the FL-LM3 is suited for close to medium-distance subjects — up to 14 metres according to its specs. It's enough for indoor portraits, fill-flash in daylight, or lighting subjects a few metres away, but it's not designed for large venues or long-range event photography.

Question 3

Does the Olympus FL-LM3 have a swivel or bounce head?

Accepted Answer

No — the FL-LM3 has a fixed head. It fires straight ahead, which keeps the unit compact and lightweight. If you need bounce flash off ceilings or walls, you'd want to look at a larger dedicated speedlite with a tilting head.

Question 4

Is buying a used Olympus FL-LM3 worth it?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The FL-LM3 is a simple, durable accessory with no moving parts beyond the hot shoe mount, so wear on a second-hand unit is minimal. Every used item on Camera-tweedehands.nl is professionally inspected and comes with a minimum 12 months warranty, so you're covered if anything isn't right.

Question 5

How heavy is the FL-LM3 and will it unbalance my camera?

Accepted Answer

At just 50 grams, the FL-LM3 is one of the lightest hot-shoe flashes around. On a compact Micro Four Thirds body like an Olympus PEN E-PL or OM-D E-M10, you'll barely notice it's there — no tripod or grip needed to keep things balanced.

Question 6

Does the FL-LM3 support TTL exposure control?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it supports Olympus/Panasonic TTL, meaning the camera and flash communicate automatically to set the correct exposure. You don't need to dial in manual power settings for everyday shots; point and shoot, and the TTL system handles the rest.
