Who is this for?

If you shoot Sony mirrorless and want a portable strobe that plays nicely with Profoto's wider ecosystem, the A1X AirTTL-S is a solid pick. The swivel head lets you bounce light off ceilings or walls for a more natural look — great for events, portraits, or run-and-gun editorial work. Buying it used means you get that same professional-grade build and TTL automation at a more accessible entry point.

Wireless & ecosystem

The A1X AirTTL-S is designed to slot into the Profoto Air wireless ecosystem. Paired with a compatible Profoto Air trigger, you can fire it off-camera while keeping full TTL control — a real advantage when you want to move your light source away from the hot shoe without losing automatic exposure. The Sony ADI / P-TTL protocol ensures the flash and camera communicate accurately for consistent exposures across a shoot.
