Urth Magnetic Lens Filter Kit

The Urth Magnetic Lens Filter Kit is a modular filter system that uses a magnetic mount for fast, tool-free filter swapping in the field.

Who is it for?

If you shoot landscapes, architecture or video and regularly switch between ND, polarising or UV filters, a magnetic system like this removes the fumbling with threaded rings. It's especially useful when you're working in changing light conditions and need to move quickly between shots.

Landscape photographers

Magnetic filter systems shine on location shoots where light shifts fast — snap an ND off and a CPL on in seconds without unscrewing anything.

Video and run-and-gun shooters

On a gimbal or shoulder rig, threading filters on and off is awkward. A magnetic system keeps your hands on the camera and your eye on the subject.

What to check when buying used

When picking up a pre-owned magnetic filter kit, inspect the magnetic ring adapter for scratches or warping that could affect alignment, and hold each filter glass up to a light source to check for dust, fungus or delamination. Filter kits have no moving parts or electronics, so a second-hand Urth kit in solid condition can be a genuinely smart buy.
