Insta360 from Shenzhen has existed since 2015 and leads the consumer 360 camera market. The X series has two lenses that together capture a full sphere; in the app you choose the viewing direction afterwards and create invisible-selfie-stick shots and 'tiny planet' videos. The X4 shoots 8K, the X5 improves the lenses and low-light recording. The Ace Pro, developed with Leica, is a regular action camera with a large sensor, and the GO 3 is a thumb-sized camera with a magnetic mount.

On 360 cameras the lenses are vulnerable because they protrude. We check both lenses for scratches, test the stitching, the sensor, the screen, recording to the memory card and the app link, and grade the battery on capacity. On the X4 and X5 we also look at the lens guards.
