Buying used Cambo: technical cameras and support
Cambo is one of the few Dutch camera makers and still works from Kampen. The brand grew big with monorail large-format cameras for studio and architecture and carried that knowledge into the digital era: the Actus series combines tilt and shift with mirrorless cameras or digital backs, the Wide series is built around Rodenstock and Schneider lenses for architecture and landscape. Cambo also supplies ball heads, video tripods and the Artes line for heavy work.
On used technical cameras we check every movement for play, the bellows for light leaks and the standard adapters (Cambo, Hasselblad V, Mamiya 645) for fit. Tripod heads are tested for clamping force and smoothness. Because this equipment is mechanical and heavily built, it usually lasts for decades.
When assembling a kit, mind the camera adapter's mount and the image circle of your lens. Our product pages state the system; for advice on a complete set for architecture or product photography, get in touch.
