M, SL or R?
M lenses are the compact classics for the rangefinder — almost every M lens since 1954 fits every digital M, with the Summicron-M 50mm (11826) and the Summilux-M 50mm ASPH (11891) as eternal favourites. SL lenses are modern autofocus glass for the L mount. R lenses belong to Leica's former SLR system and are popular with video and hybrid shooters via adapters.
Why used Leica glass?
Leica lenses are assembled by hand and built to last for decades; they hold their value exceptionally well. We check focusing, aperture and the condition of the glass (scratches, haze, fungus) and describe the condition honestly.
The most popular Leica lenses right now
The Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70mm f/2.8 ASPH (11189) is the absolute top favourite as a versatile standard zoom for the SL, followed by the Summicron-M 50mm (11826) as a timeless all-rounder on the rangefinder and the Elmarit-M 28mm ASPH (11606) for those looking for a compact wide angle. For SL shooters the APO-Summicron-SL line is the cream of the crop.
