Voigtländer — the oldest camera brand in the world, nowadays built by Cosina — makes manual primes that approach Leica quality for a third of the price. In our range: around 190 products, from Nokton, Ultron and Skopar lenses to analogue Bessa bodies.
For anyone who focuses by hand
The fast Noktons (35mm and 50mm f/1.2 and f/1.5) are favourites on Leica M and — in native mounts — on Sony E and Nikon Z. Popular models right now are the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 Nokton for Nikon Z (ideal for fast portrait work), the Voigtlander Super Wide Heliar 15mm f/4.5 III for Leica M (compact for sweeping landscapes) and the Voigtlander Color-Skopar 21mm f/4 P for Leica M (light for street photography). The compact Skopars are the travel companions, and the Bessa rangefinders the affordable analogue entry next to an M.
Mechanics are everything
On fully mechanical lenses we inspect what defines the experience: the damping of the focus travel, the click behaviour of the aperture and the glass under bright light. Bessa bodies are tested on the rangefinder, shutter speeds and light meter. Every copy described honestly, with photos and a warranty — and we are happy to take your current manual kit in trade.

Buying used Voigtländer: Nokton, Ultron and Color-Skopar
Voigtländer was founded in Vienna in 1756 and in 1840 built the first mathematically computed lens. Since 1999 the name has been carried by Japanese Cosina, which releases a range of manual lenses under it that are among the best you can buy for the money: the Nokton line with f/0.95 to f/1.5 (the 25mm f/0.95 and 42.5mm f/0.95 for Micro Four Thirds, the 35mm f/1.2 and 50mm f/1.2 for Leica M and Sony E), the Ultron series with compact f/2 primes, the Color-Skopar wide-angles and the APO-Lanthar lenses that are apochromatically corrected. The Sony E, Nikon Z and Fujifilm X versions have electronic contacts for EXIF and image stabilisation.
On used Voigtländer we check the focus ring for smoothness, the aperture ring (clicked or de-clicked on versions with a switch), the rangefinder coupling on M lenses, the contacts on E, Z and X versions and the glass for scratches, dust and fungus. Older Bessa cameras and lenses in Nikon S or Leica screw mount are tested for mechanics and shutter. The condition notes list everything.
A Nokton 35mm or 40mm is the everyday lens for many Leica and Sony photographers; on Micro Four Thirds the f/0.95 Noktons are unrivalled in low light. Check the mount on the product page and trade in your old glass with us.
